'Loife in a northern Town!'
When Westlife go on tour it's a birrova special occasion. But what does your town mean to them?

Belfast
Kian: We cannot thank the people of Belfast enough. One in every seven people there have us seen live and one in six owns a Westlife Album.
Shane: The whole city gets hysterical. We can't explain it, but we're grateful.
Nicky: We can't go out to a shop. We can't go out to clubs after shows cos they'd have to cordon the whole place off.
Bryan: So we bring a lot of mates and family up from Dublin and party hard at the hotel.
Mark: belfast was where I got proposed to! I mean, I'd hab letters and stupp like that before, but not someone actually showing up in a wedding dress with a ring in her pocket, ready to go to the church. (thoughtfully) You can't say, "You're a freak" no matter how much you want to.

Dublin
Bryan: Obviously, it's home.
Nicky: I get goosebumps every time we arrive at the airport. The air, the accents. It's special!
Shane: People treat us so well, no one bothers us really.
Mark: And of course, Dublin's always great cos of the parties afterwards. All our mates and family come down.
Kian: We sold out more shows at The Point than anyone else - but the most exciting time is yet to come! On this tour we will be playing two nights in front of 45.000 people at Landsdowne Road, Dublin. It'll be wicked!

Cardiff
Nicky: First night nerves. We just wanted to make sure all the technical thingimebobs worked as well as they should.
Kian: We've gotta make up a whole new set of memories for Cardiff next time we're there.
Bryan: Apart from supporting Boyzone in Wales, we've hardly been there at all.
Mark: It was one of the earliest things that we did. I was really starstruck at rehearse cos they were such big stars, all with their girlfriends and babies.

Birmingham
Mark: I got excited last time I saw Spaghetti junction. By the time we get there the crew all know each other and we're ready for some wild nights.
Nicky: It's got a great crowd. I used to watch Gladiators every Saturday night, so I was always really excited that we were in the NEC - the same place they filmed Gladiators.
Shane: Well, we're doing five shows this time around.
Kian: If we're in one city for a while we'll try to do some shopping.
Bryan: Shopping? Nah, Birmingham is the closest City to the famous belfry Golf course, so we'll be out there playing. This is no Westlife Tour - it's a golf tour instead.

London
Mark: Too much to say about London - that's a whole separate interview. It's pretty much my second home.
Bryan: I still live in the hotel so we're often nearby, out on the King's Road.
Nicky: Of course it's always special to play at Wembley. But Earls Cout in the Round last year was amazong as well.
Kian: Really nerve wracking though. Whenever I hear the word Wembley I shiver. I'm not nervous exactly, just gagging to go on stage.

Nottingham
Nicky: Everyone's really friendly there. It's quite an easy going city, so we just go with the flow.
Kian: We love going to clubs in new places, sometimes the managers of restaurants are good to us and let us stay later than we should.

Sheffield
Mark: I thin Sheffield is where this tour is actually due to end.
Kian: So we'll definately have to sort out some special celebrations.
Nicky: If anyone from Sheffield is reading this article and would like to host a Wetslife party - then bring it on.

Manchester
Mark: Manchester is a really cool city. After our shows there, we usally have sing song round the piano in our hotel out by the Quays. Last time Tom Jones turned up an we were singing with him - very cool.
Kian: We've flown our friends and family over there for shows cos it's the biggest arena.
Shane: And my cousins live there already. They come to the show cos it's a great chance to catch up.
Bryan: We had a great day at old Trafford, once, didn't we? Watching Manchester united play Chelsea.
Nicky: In fact, I almost bought a flat in Manchester so I could go and see man U play.

Newcastle
Mark: Ah, the early days. We went to a club after the show, way back to a supported Boyzone. When we got back in the van there were fans there - so we talked with them for four hours.
Shane: I wonder if the girls remember?
Bryan: Iwon 1.000 Pounds once when Newcastle beat West Ham.
Kian: Did ya? That was on my birthday, wasn't it?
Nicky: Yeah! And our mate, who plays in goal for Newcastle, brought the team to the show and kian's party afer. All I can remember is Bryan trying to get Alan Shearer to dance.

Glasgow
Kian: We love Glasgow cos it gave me my top tour moment ever. We did the first night of our first tour there - and the fans were mental!
Mark: Yeah, the crowd's unbreatable. They're the craziest.
Kian: D'you remember two tours back they went wild when we had those kilts on? We were flashing on stage.
Shane: (Nodding) And everyone's so loyal. We're doing 12 nights this time - so that's 120.000 people.
Nicky: Urk! But the city reminds me of pain cos I fractured my wrist last time I was there. I slipped on some oil.
Bryan: Well, it's happy for me. I had a great laugh shooting pellets from my pellet gun out of the hotel window (er, no, Bryan, that's bad!) It's also where I was when I started seeing Kerry. I had to call my ex in Oz to break things off.
