VJ: Now here he is, as promised: Brian McFadden is in the talk - Welcome!
Brian: Thank you
VJ: We've got endless numbers of calls for you, its unbelievable, they all
want to ask you their questions. So we'll have our first caller right now. I
suppose it's a female caller. Hello?
Caller: Hello?
VJ: I knew it. Hello, who are you?
Caller: It's Caroline.
VJ: Hi Caroline, you have a question?
Caller: Yes I have. I want to know if Brian regrets quitting westlife?
Brian: No! By no means! I have a good time on my own. I do miss the boys from
westlife, but it is much more fun being on my own.
VJ: Question answered? Or do you have another question?
Caller: Yeah, i have another question. Which of the guys do you miss the most?
Brian: Mark.
VJ: Oooh, did you expect this, Caroline?
Caller: No, not really.
VJ: What did you think?
Caller: I thought he couldn't chose between all of them.
VJ: I see. But seems as if he'd had his favourite...
Brian: I miss them all! I miss them all. But Mark and me were very close, so
I miss him the most.
VJ: Okay, so your questions were answered. You'll get the new single, which
is out since monday by the way... Thank you for your call.
VJ:Was she sweet... Well, I have a question on my own. Why did you change your
name from Brian with an 'y' to Brian with 'i'?
Brian: My name was always spelled with an 'i'. And when i was in Westlife I
changed it, because i couldn't write autographs properly. So we thought it would
look better with a 'y' instead of the 'i'. That's why we changed it.
VJ: I see. Because it looks better... So now we've cleared this...
VJ: I saw on your homepage... there are many pictures of you with different
hair styles. From former times till now. I have to say, the style you wear now
appeals to me the most.
Brian: Yeah, I think you're right.
VJ: Who advised you for this style?
Brian: Ähm... nobody. When I quit Westlife I was happy because there were
people that styled our hair every day and when i was out of the band I did not
have any person like that anymore. I didn't shave, and I just let the hair grow.
And then i saw that it looks much better than the spikie hair with the pale
face I used to have before...
VJ: Didn't you have blond hair before? Did you color your hair or have they
been dyed blond in the past?
Brian: No, this is now my actual color! I used to dye them blonde when i was
in westlife. but this is now my natural hair color.
VJ: That means you like the new image much more, than the one you used to have
when you were in westlife?
Brian: Yeah, sure. It's much more easy to handle and I am totally relaxed. Now
I am myself.
VJ: Just like your single says: Real to me. It is about the time in westlife,
which you didn't like. Was it really a bad time?
Brian: No it's not really about bad times in westlife. It's more about the music-business,
the reecord label and people that were with us all the time. We didn't have
any problems in the band itself. We just had to do unbelievably much and all
the people kept telling us what to do. That was not what I wanted, but I came
along very well with the guys.
VJ: So that means you felt really bad during that time, or how did you feel
while being in westlife? I mean the single is so... you are almost crying when
you try to put yourself into that situation...
Brian:I just think it's... you know, it's a song! It's a pop-song. And I wrote
it. It's abot my emotions, my feelings. I just like coming home and seeing my
babies. That's what I really like, what feels real to me. It's not like there's
a big message in the song.
VJ: You've been to a TV-Show recently and talked about your relationship, which
is over now, because you split from your wife. And you were really sad about
this. What do you regret? What do you wish to have done differently in order
to safe your family?
Brian: Ähm. No I think, you know everything happens for a reason. And sometimes
people change and you cannot do anything against it. That's why I don't regret
anything. There are always matters for the things that happen to oneself.
VJ:Yeah, but isn't it like this that you have many personal things about yourself
on your official website? I had the feeling you didn't keep any personal things
away from the pucblic. Everybody is able to read every personal detail about
you on your homepage, your childhood, and puctures of your kids... Do you really
support this?
Brian: I don't care if there are pictures of my childhood
VJ: Your Kids!! pictures of your kids!
Brian: What? Pictures of MY kids? Well... maybe there are pictures of my kids
as well, but that's not really that good. Maybe I do regret this a bit. I was
young at the time, and it's already a few years back that I've done this. They
were really small back then. Now I wouldn't do it again. That's sure!
VJ: Wow, the next caller is in the line. Hello?
Caller: Hi!
VJ: Hey, who are you?
Caller: Ahm... I am Sina. I wanted to know if brian believes in God and faith.
Brian: Yes I believe in God and yes, i believe in faith! For sure! I just said
I believe everything happens for a reason and you cannot affect your destiny
no matter how hard you try.
VJ: Question answered, Sina? Do you have another one?
Caller: I want to know if it was fun doing the Video together with Molly and
Lilly? Your new Video for Irish Son I mean...
Brian: It's only Molly. But everybody believes the other baby is Lilly. But
it's only Molly. It was really nice, we made the video in Dublin and she was
there so we thought: Okay, the producer wants kids in the car, so we might take
my kid - why not? She had much fun and afterwards she called her mum and said:
'Mum, now i am just like you, I am in television.'.
VJ: Question answered?
Caller: Yes!
VJ: Look, you'll get a signed copy of Brian's Single.
Caller: Can he write 'For Sina' on it?
Brian: No problem!
VJ: Yes, hell do this for you!
Brian: Kein problem (no problem)
VJ: Thanx for you call. And he can talk german! Unbelievable! Bye Sina! And
you can really talk german? No, only a few words, right?
Brian: Nein! (no)
VJ: I think that answered the question.
VJ: Tell me, do you miss Westlife? The band itself?
Brian: No, I miss the people, Kian, Nicky, Shane and mark, but I don't miss
the musis and I don't want to go back, I have too much fun on my own.
VJ: Where's the advantage now you are solo? Do you make a different style of
music?
Brian: Yes! my music is completely different! It is my music and I have the
complete control about it. It's my passion because I do it on my own. Nobody
tells me anymore what I'll have to do, it's brilliant... just like getting released
from a prison.
VJ: And when you travel the world, do you miss your family, your 2 kids?
Brian: I don't travel much. I only have 5 days of work and I'll be back home
on the weekends. In westlife it was different, and I would have been away for
many weeks. Now I only work for a few days and wll be back home afterwards.
VJ: So you try to be a good daddy?
Brian: Yeah, I try!
VJ: I have a mail for you: Hi viva, I want to know if brian is going to do
hard rock music?!
Brian: No, not really.
VJ: This isn't your style, right? Another question: When will you come into
the north of germany?
Brian:L As soon as Sony brings me there. It's not my decision. The comrade from
sony decides this for me. And normally I only come to berlin, cologne and munich,
everybody comes there. I haven't been to other parts of germany yet.
VJ: So I hope sony listened today and will sent you to hamburg soon. Another
question: Who was your best friend inb Westlife? Wait, we already had this question.
It was Mark.
Brian: Yeah, Mark.
VJ: I have another mail. Wait a minute... Why did you split up?
Brian: Because I was just unhappy at that time. We had to do so much work and
we were always on the road so I wasn't at home much and I couldn't care for
my kids. That's why I left the band. (note: the question was about splitting
from kerry *lol*)
VJ: Now you've finished your solo-album. It will be out on november 29th.
Brian: Yeah.
VJ: What can we expect. What kind of music?
Brian: My album is an autobiography. There is a chapter of my life in each of
the songs. It's about my experiences and I hope other people will be touched
by them. It is really personal and it's about alcoholism, domestic violence,
the catholic church... ireland, split from the woman, etc. You'll understand
this when you buy the album!
VJ: Okay girls! buy the album!! Brian, thank you for being here! Huge applause
for you!
