![]() |
Kian: Who'd
you like to be stranded with on a deserted Island? Nicky: You Kian! Kian: Awwww, Nicky... |
Mark: I never had really bad eyesight, but not kind of the best as well, if you know what I mean? |
On the question 'What made you so determined to go on your diet' he answered : 'Because I was fat!' |
Nicky: We've drunk more pints than we've sold singles... |
Nicky: A fan sent Shane a horse once or did I dream that...no must have dreamt that! |
Bryan: The lyrics are about if I were to die tomorrow. If my world stopped turning in the morning. I’d take all my memories of Kerry with me, and that I’d still stand tall even if it were all taken from me because she’s the one who made the winner out of me (About his song: If my world stopped turning) |
Mark: It felt strange when I looked around and there were only 3 others instead of four. but Bryan was on stage with us in spirit (About first Gig without Bryan) |
Bryan: I'll always be best friends with the lads and it'll be hard not seeing them as much. They'll be off touring the world and I'll be at home looking after my babies. |
Nicky: As far as Westlife are concerned Bryan's dead and gone. |
Bryan: To be honest, the guys want me to be happy. You know we are very very close and our families are very important to us all as well. (About his leaving) |
Nicky:
The band is not going to be the same without anyone of us. But we just want
Bryan to be happy - we want all the members of the Band to be happy. But
we're still a Band and we feel we have a lot of unfinished business to do
yet. (After Bryan's decision to leave the Band) |
Kian: We have enjoyed so many times with you on the road. We've shared laughter, tears success, weddings and babies, but most of all, we've shared our dreams. (devoted to Bryan) |
Nicky: If you ever wanna have a good night of passion, gimme a call |
Mark: Listen, I'm not coming into the toilets with you. You're clearly used to pigs and I'm not a pig, so you might as well stop asking. (To a persistent groupie at the Brit Awards 2004) |
Bryan: Obviously I'll miss being in Westlife as it has been amazing. We've had so much success and we have enjoyed it so much. Andthe main thing I'll miss is the four guys. They are my best friends and they'll still be kind of my best friends. (About his leaving) |
Nicky: I tried everything to get him stay, including begging, but he made the right decision in the end and I accept that. (After Bryan's decision to leave the Band) |
Shane: I will always remember Bryan in the band as a crazy guy with a big heart. (After Bryan's decision to leave the Band) |
Kian: The fans absolutely adored Bryan and are really going to miss him, but I know they'll stick by Westlife. (After Bryan's decision to leave the Band) |
Mark: Bryan's so smart, it's unbelievable and he knows something about everything, which always made for interesting conversations. (After Bryan's decision to leave the Band) |
Nicky:
Now we are here to tell everyone that we want it to last and unfortunately
it's not in the hands of us, it's in the hand of all of our fans. And in
this moment we just hope, that all of our fans will stay with us. We need
their support now more than ever. Forget number ones, forget everything
else, we need their support right now. (After Bryan's decision to leave the Band) |
Bryan: For the last year, especially since Lilly was born, I haven't really been able to commit 100% to Westlife, and I haven't been able to commit 100% to my family. So I kind of felt I unfair on both. (About his leaving) |
Nicky: Even when Bryan became dad for the first time he gave Westlife everything. (After Bryan's decision to leave the Band) |
Kian: For one last time Bryan, from the bottom of our hearts, we love you. (devoted to Bryan) |
Bryan: It has absolutely nothing to do with the guys - they are my four best friends in the world. We are a family (About his leaving) |
Mark: Whenever we were away on tour he'd always be on the phone to Kerry and his Kids. He just can't live without them. |
Kian: I remember the first time I met Bryan, he was cracking jokes and so down to eart. He always had everyone in fits of laughter. And he retained that throughout the six years of being in Westlife. |
Nicky:
Kids-...You are joking? When Georgina and I were in
Londan last week we babysat Bryan and Kerrys kid,Molly,She is gorgeous, but
we just didnt have a clue!! 'Im a celebrity' came on and she ran up to the telly shouting 'mammy is in the jungle, get my mammy out of the jungle!' myself and Gerogina were sitting there going "get me out of here now! |
'We're soul mates, aren't we?' Kerry asks. Bryan nods: 'Forever. Nothing's ever going to break us up. Our love's gonna last.' |
Nicky: All I know is that if it wasn’t for Georgina I wouldn’t be the person I am today. She’s my morning, noon and night. She’s my everything. |
Shane: I cried at Notting Hill, when he was racing in the car to stop her leaving. I cried at Armageddon and Titanic. I don't know what it is, I never cried at films when I was younger. |
Kian: I've known Jodi since the very start of Westlife. I know she's not interested in me just because I'm in Westlife. And when something like that happens it's really nice. |
Bryan:
I want to thank myself for being me, because I'm pop and I'm proud! |
Mark: I'd love for the girl of my dreams to step into my life tomorrow. It's just not goin' to happen. |
Georgina: I've always dreamt of getting married to him. We've always talked about it. It was just a matter of when. |
Jodi: To be honest, I just like eating.I always pig out and I don't worry about what I eat. I'm not a calorie counter. |
Yvonne Byrne: She is a lovely girl. They get along well together. Georgina is part of the furniture. She’s like another daughter to me and I can’t imagine the house without her. |
Kerry: Just
after Tash had Josh she and I were walking down kings street in London,
both pushing our buggies and laden down with shopping and Tash turned to
me and said 'thats it then. we're proper mums now. could you ever imagine
things turning out like this when we had just signed our Atomic Kitten record deal?' |
Kian: Georgina and Nicky seem to have a good, loving relationship with each other. They play about in public, and they're like kids when they're together. She calls him 'Nousey' - Nicky Nouse - and puts on this baby voice. Actually, Shane and Gillian do that as well! |
Mark: Everything
I was doing was so strange at the beginning. I was younger then, and I wasn’t
used to being away from my home and family. God yeah, I used to want to hide under my duvet a lot! But I’m just getting on with it these days. |
Susan: Bryan is going to be in the crowd supporting me on Sunday-but so are all the other contestant's brothers and sisters. I f I end up winning I wouldn't feel even slightly guilty for a second. I am only there doing what everyone else in the show is doing-trying to win. |
Nicky: The the big question about starting a family is when? It could be tomorrow, and we'd be delighted |
Kian: I kinda notice Mark getting a bit lonely once in a while, but I think he's coping well. He's very close to his mum, and he's the kind of person who'd ring her up and say 'I'm f***ing p**ed off.' I would never talk to my mum about problems like, 'I'm p**ed off today 'cos Bryan did this to me, but Mark woud do all that. |
Mark: It’s not professional to be drunk on stage - but we’ve performed so many times! One time out of hundreds isn’t so bad... |
Shane: We were in Jakarta and Bryan said, "Goodnight, Bangkok." We'd played Bangkok two days ago. Sometimes, I do worry and I have to think, "Wait, where am I?" Oh yeah! "Hello, Glasgow!" You're touring so much and going to so many cities that your head gets messed up and you just forget where you are sometimes. You wake up in the morning and you don't even know where you are. |
Kian: Of course I worry about 'kiss and tell's. One was sold on Mark a while ago, and they can be really nasty. But I had one sold on me a few years ago and she was quite complimentary - said I was a five-times-a-night stud! You really do worry, but what can you do? You can't stop living your life. If there's a terrible story in the paper, you have to say, 'I'm not gonna stop living my life 'cos I'm in a band'. |
Bryan: We absolutely love each other and the love that made us get engaged within three weeks of meeting each other is still there. |
Kerry: People are going to judge me by those naked pictures but I was 16, living on my own and I needed the money. |
Mark: It's hard to say "I won't call" if someone throws their number at me. |
Nicky: When I started liking Georgina, I went home and told my mum I’d found the girl I was going to marry. She laughed at me. |
Kian: I'm always reading absolute rubbish about me with various girls. There was one story, when Liz and I broke up, saying I was phoning her drunk all the time and pleading with her down the phone. That was utter garbage. |
Shane: I never notice at once when anyone is takling to me. A doctor told me it was a sign of intelligence. |
Kerry: You're given two paths in life, the wrong and right one, and which way you choose depends on what kind of person you are. I'm very proud of where I am now and have everything I've ever wanted - a perfect family life. |
Bryan: I fell in love with her the first time I met her.At first, Kerry didn't know who Westlife were, and it took a while to get her to go out with me. Our realtionship is the most important thing in my life. |
Susan: He's my brother and I love him but we don't swap career notes-not at all. |
Mark: The Westlife sound is gonna stay the way it is on the new album. It'll be freshened up and new and it's gonna have a bit of sparkle to it. We're not suddenly gonna do heavy rock songs and R'n'B tunes, don't worry! The thought of that would excite me but I don't think Westlife is the Neptunes or will ever be. Personally I'd love to work with them, but not right now. |
Kian: I totally trust Shane with my cousin - he wouldn't be with her if I didn't! |
Nicky & Gina: Make us one in our love; keep us one in our peace. Protect our marriage. Bless our home. Make us gentle. Keep us faithful. |
Yvonne Byrne: He always says eyes are the main attraction when he meets people and she has beautiful eyes, God bless her. |
Kerry: I have known Jodi Albert for years and obviously I know Kian and at the moment they are certainly mad about each other. |
Bryan: Kerry's mum and I had to drag ourselves away from watching the Michael Jackson documentary down the corridor to witness Lillys birth! |
Shane: Getting asked about splitting up annoys us, we're in a band doing very well. We're having a laugh and there's no reason why we'd give it up. If you're successful you're stupid to give it up. You don't see rock bands splitting up, but because we're in a pop band, that's the way it's supposed to be. But we've never done it the way it's supposed to be. No one expected us to get 11 number ones, but we did. We break the rules... in a good way. |
Nicky: The second person I told was my grandad. He had become very ill and as time went by I knew he probably wouldn't make it to Christmas. We're a very close family, so I had a quiet moment with him and told him. He died in the autumn and, as my nanna said, it was a secret he took to the grave because he never told a soul. |
Kian: We love Glasgow cos it gave me my top tour moment ever. We did the first night of our first tour there - and the fans were mental! |
Mark: I was very quiet in school and that attracted the bullies. They tend to pick on people who are different in any way but it is much more interesting than being the same as anyone else. I used to feel too embarrassed to tell anyone about what was being done. |
Bryan: I honestly don't think that many Westlife fans will be angry with Kerry for being my girlfriend, probably because there aren't that many of them who fancy me. |
Kerry: I'm absolutely in love with the girls, but it's dead weird to think that we're only 22 and we've got two children. I think that's mad! |
Kian: I get sent loads of sweets, for some reason. If I ate them, I'd be about 10 times the size I am now! |
Shane: I could always fit in a girlfriend. If I met a girl I wanted to stay with, I'd stay with her no matter what. Georgina and Nicky are lucky 'cos they have a five-year foundation. If I have to start from scratch, it wouldn't be easy, you know? To be honest, I wouldn't be there for her. If she was upset I'd have to say. 'Sorry, I'll se you in a month and I'll stop you crying then.' That's one of the bad things about being in Westlife. You can't have a normal love life. |
Mark: I trash my hotel room- well my suitcase tends to kinda explode all over the place! Apart from that, nope. I’m either completely organised or totally messy- nothing in between. At the moment my room’s a riot! |
Georgina: Having a stable family home with children is really important to us. We both can’t wait to have children. Nicky wants five, but I’d be happy with three. Nicky will make a brilliant daddy, I know. He loves kids. There are still plenty of things we both want to do in life but, when the day eventually comes, we’ll both be over the moon with excitement. |
Nicky: We've grown up together and loved each other, and I've always known that she's my number one and I'm her's no matter what. |
Kerry: You're given two paths in life, the wrong and right one, and which way you choose depends on what kind of person you are. I'm very proud of where I am now and have everything I've ever wanted - a perfect family life. |
Kian: Shane and Gillian are cool. I must say at first I had some reservations. I used to try to stop Shane from seeing Gillian because she's my cousin and I was really close to her. When I was 16 and we were in the musical Grease together, they nearly started going out. But I'd say things like, 'Aah Gillian, you don't wanna go there, you won't get on,' and, 'Oh Shane, she's a real...whatever'! Then I ended up putting them together! Gillian came round and I said, 'Shane's upstairs - I think there's something going on there,' and she said, 'Oh yeah?' |
Bryan: I once lied my way past security to meet Stevie Wonder. |
Shane: I've never noticed that I always say we when I'm asked something. I'm so used to talking as member of Westlife that if I'm talking professionally I'm talking on behalf of the other four. |
Kian: If there's a story about some westlife guy in the papers, I wouldn't wind him up. You don't know what that person's feeling inside, so you don't want to hurt their feelings. Mind you, we'd take the piss out of Bryan and we'd take the piss out of everyone except Mark, probably. He's not necessarily sensitive but he takes things in a different way. |
Nicky: Proposing to Georgina was funny because I'd been presenting a Christmas show on Belfast radio with Shane the day before and we'd started talking about weddings. He asked me: 'When are you thinking about getting married?', but I avoided the question. I knew nothing of his plans and he knew nothing of mine. But we both ended up getting engaged on the same day - Christmas Day. |
Georgina: While I was recovering from the shock with Keano he said, 'Okay, we have the house, we have our dog, but there's still something that's not quite complete,' and with that he did the whole romantic thing and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the happiest moment of my life. I'd always hopped he wouldn't do it in front of a whole lot of friends, so for me it was just perfect. |
Kerry: Nicole Kidman is said to be in talks with Chanel over a £5 million contract to promote their beauty products. Well everyone knows who Nicole Kidman is and if I were her and someone offered me £5 million I would say "Hand me the cheque, darling!" Actually, I would ask for more! |
Kian: When you go to countries where we see people with poverty and stuff like that, it makes us realise how lucky we are, to have clothes that keep us warm, to have food everyday. That makes you realise what life is truly about. Its not just about the commerical side of life and you know, the whole money side of life, that its not money that makes the world go round, its truly love. |
Bryan: I’m always trying to think of ways to spend money. I’m what you might call financially lackadaisical. |
Nicky: I love just stretching out on my sofa and watching loads of footie. |
Shane: Growing up, I was fortunate enough to live above a restaurant in the middle of the town. I used to watch the St Patrick's Day parade go past my window every year. Then we would go downstairs to the restaurant and have ice cream. |
Mark: I think music is something that definitely makes me relax sometimes and I use music for sort of meditation as well as reasons to just listen to it, like to chill you out on the dance floor. |
Bryan: I’d hate to be on a sinking boat. Just locked in a room, forced to watch the level of the water rise up and up. Like in the movie Pearl Harbor where the soldiers know they’re going to drown. |
Kian: I play golf with my dad sometimes, just the two of us in the golf course with our golf bag and just play golf to be away from all. It really helps and it really clears your mind... |
Nicky: Around the Swear It Again I lokked awful- what was I thinking and what was the hairdresser doing? My head looked like two footballs put together! |
Shane: Propose to Gillian was the most romatic thing I've ever done. We were walking along a beach in Dubai, then we lay down and looked at the stars and I held the ring over her head. She started crying and I got down one one knee and proposed. |
Kerry: I can't believe David Beckham got Dolce & Gabbana to bring things out to his car last week to save him going into the shop. What a joke! I mean what harm is it going to do? Ruin his fake tan? |
Kian: The idea of being in the middle of a field in pitch-black darkness and not having a clue where you are terrifies me. |
Mark: I was very quiet in school and that attracted the bullies. They tend to pick on people who are different in any way but it is much more interesting than being the same as anyone else. I used to feel too embarrassed to tell anyone about what was being done. |
Nicky: I was different from a lot of the other lads at the football club. I got stick in the dressing room for listening to Boyzone when they liked dance music. |
Bryan: I’d like to do a love scene like that one in Eyes Wide Shut. There were loads of people wearing masks in one huge room just getting it on. Nine hundred people all bonking away - imagine that! I watched that movie with Kerry’s ma - Jesus, I was mortified. |
Kian: You might see someone, then two weeks later you realise she ain't here for the right reason, and you dump her. I went through a stage where I was meeting hundreds of girls who'd say, 'When are you gonna bring me backstage, when are you gonna take me to a club with loads of famous people?' You just think, 'go away.' |
Shane: I like chats, rather than being asked the same question over and over. |
Kerry: If you went back 20 years when my mum was my age, people were getting married at 16 and no one said there was anything wrong with it. Now women wait until they're 40 to get married and have kids, but who's to say who is right or wrong? If we weren't famous and didn't have the money it would probably be the last thing on our mind, but we've been around the world and done so much at a young age. Plus, I've always wanted a family and I want to grow up with my children rahter than be old parents. |
Kian: I get sent loads of sweets, for some reason. If I ate them, I'd be about 10 times the size I am now! |
Mark: One newspaper once said "Mark feehily' s got a small , er, 'wee - hily' ! |
Georgina: He has always been there for me and I for him. We are the best of friends and we have grown together, and we have both been there for each other through everything. |
Nicky: The nicest thing I've ever done was when I was 15, I went fishing with a mate and we caught fve fish. On the way home, a nun came up told us her father used to go fishing before he passed awayy and she hadn't eaten fresh fish since. So we gave her one. |
Mark: The atmosphere on tour is great. About 90 people came on the road with us this time, and we got to know them all pretty well. There’s always someone to chat to! Dancers, caterers, security people, musicians, support acts, technicians...we all mix together and have a laugh! |
Kian: We're always winding each other up in Interviews. Even when the person being wound up tells the others to stop, we just carry on doing it. |
Mark: Our concert with Boyzone in Cardiff was one of the earliest things that we did. I was really starstruck at rehearse cos they were such big stars, all with their girlfriends and babies. |
Kerry: I don't know whether it is Simon Cowell's arrogance or his money that women find attractive. |
Kian: To be in a band like Take That ,you had to be a nice boy. Now boybands are a lot more 'real'. To have a girlfriend or to be caught having sex was a sin, whereas nowadays it's normal. |
Shane: Bryan and Mark have been bullied and look at them now. Just because you are being bullied in your early years doesn't mean that it is going to be that way for the rest of your life. Be strong and tell somebody. If you can't talk to friends or a parent, call Samaritans or Childline. |
Nicky: Shaving my head was terrible. I watch it now and go, "What was I doing?" I look absolutely terrible. I'd like to say it was for a bet, but I didn't get any money out of it. It was just one of those things when the director said, "We need something in this video that's different. Would anyone shave their head?" It was something I've always wanted to do, so I thought, "Why not?" |
Kian: Apart from all the boys in the band, I don't really hang around with celebrities. I like to see my own mates back home in Sligo, Ireland. |
Kerry: Bryan's not fat! Ok, he was big when he joined Westlife at 17 or 18, but it was puppy fat and he has lost a lot since! |
Shane: One thing I can say for sure is that Nicky'll definitely be changing his hair. He can't stick with a style more than a couple of months - he's looking through mags to decide how to have it next. I think he's going to grow it. He's still with Georgina - it'll be their ninth year together! But there are no plans for wedding bells or more Westlife babies just yet! If it happens, but we're not planning that. |
Mark: Kian's so involved with the band - he surprise me all the time 'cause he's got to know this business amazingly well. He's involved with the business side of it all and always in communication with the label. The more we go on, he has a great way of putting things together. But we all take decisions as a band. Next year, I reckon Kian'll stress out from thousands of phone calls a day and organising things backstage! |
Kerry: I'm absolutely in love with the girls, but it's dead weird to think that we're only 22 and we've got two children. I think that's mad! |
Kian: I play golf with my dad sometimes, just the two of us in the golf course with our golf bag and just play golf to be away from all. It really helps and it really clears your mind... |
Shane: I never notice at once when anyone is takling to me. A doctor told me it was a sign of intelligence. |
Nicky: I get goosebumps every time we arrive at Dublin airport. The air, the accents. It's special. |
Mark: The papers link me with everyone I'm seen out with, then girls tell me they don't want to know me because I am a player. |
Kerry: I can't say too much about Jodie Marsh and Jordan because I used to be a page three model myself ... |
Kian: We love Glasgow cos it gave me my top tour moment ever. We did the first night of our first tour there - and the fans were mental! |
Shane: I’d freak out if I was dropped into a room with white walls, a white floor, white ceilings and no door. |
Mark: We thought it was time for a new sound. We managed to do that very good although we still have the Westlife-sound in it. There are a few uptempo songs on it and its all a bit more edgy. |
Kian: I'm always reading absolute rubbish about me with various girls. There was one story, when Liz and I broke up, saying I was phoning her drunk all the time and pleading with her down the phone. That was utter garbage. |
Kerry: There must be something in the water of the Conrad. I'm surprised the hotel doesn't ask us for royalties! |
Shane: The new house is 200 metres off the Dublin main road, but I don't think we will be bothered by fans. People here leave us alone. So it's the perfect location for me as I can go out horse riding and get away from it all. |
Mark: If there was a f**king vulture sitting over there, I’d be very scared. When I was younger, I lived on a farm with hens, and there was this one particularly aggressive cock that used to attack me. Then, when I was nine, I watched Hitchcock’s The Birds. I think that messed me up. |
